Professional Profile
The educational objective of the course is to enable students to:
- Develop company-specific BIM practices
- Coordinate the company's efforts during a BIM project
As part of a commitment to continuous improvement, the soon-to-be graduate ensures that guidelines, methods, and protocols are properly applied to projects carried out using a BIM approach. He or she ensures the continuous enhancement of the digital model. By safeguarding its quality, he or she contributes to the optimal execution of the work and the achievement of the company’s objectives.
As part of a larger project involving a project management team (architects, engineering firms, BIM manager, and BIM coordinator, etc.), the soon-to-be graduate will need to familiarize themselves with the BIM agreement in order to organize their digital model so that it is compatible and interoperable with all other models in the project.
The professional is involved throughout the project’s design phase, modifying the digital model in response to technical or architectural changes, and then updating it with the specifications and performance data for the structures, which are provided by the engineers or architects.
Holders of a BTS in “Building Information Modeling” work in a service-oriented field that requires a wide range of skills.
Program
The content of these courses is organized as follows:
- 20% = hours of theoretical instruction in the field of construction (introduction to architecture, reading blueprints, structural design, building materials, etc.)
- 40% = hours of theoretical instruction in the field of digital modeling (AutoCAD, Digital Modeling: Architecture 1/2/3, Digital Modeling: Structural Engineering 1/2/3, Digital Modeling: MEP 1/2/3, OpenBIM, BIM Coordinator, etc.)
- 20% = general education (languages, mathematics, health education, etc.)
- 20% = internships and thesis.
Career Opportunities
The goal of this training program is to train BIM modelers (BIM drafters and designers), BIM managers, and BIM experts who understand the challenges involved, have experience using BIM software across various disciplines, and recognize the importance of interoperability.

What is the BTS?
BTS stands for “Brevet de technicien supérieur.” It is a two-year, practice-oriented program in “higher education.” Each year, students complete a six-week internship. The LJBM offers three BTS programs: “Building Information Modeling,” “Buildings and Infrastructure,” and “Real Estate Professions.”
What kinds of training programs are we talking about?
"Buildings and Infrastructure" (BBI) is a civil engineering program that prepares students for careers in architectural firms, engineering firms, or construction companies.
“Real Estate Professions” (BPI) is a training program in the real estate industry that prepares students to work at a real estate agency, for a developer, or for a property management company.
"Building Information Modeling" (BIM) is a methodology that enables the use of a shared digital representation of a built asset to facilitate the design, construction, and operations processes, thereby providing a reliable basis for decision-making.
Where can I find the curriculum for the various BTS programs?
The various BTS programs are listed on the LJBM website under “Academic Programs.” All necessary information about the modules, courses, weekly class hours, etc. (curricula), as well as the syllabus for each course (course descriptions), can be found in the “Documents” section.
What are the chances of finding a job after completing a BTS program?
Thanks to the many internships students complete during their BTS program, they will have no trouble finding a job.
How do you enroll in a BTS program?
Students can register through June 28 (myguichet.lu).
Applicants will have interviews at the high school in July.
Applicants will receive a response to their application via email.
Any missing documents will be requested via a notification on myguichet.lu.
How many students are admitted each year?
In the BBI program, 16 students will be accepted.
In the BPI program, 15 students will be accepted.
Fifteen students will be accepted into the BIM program.
Students will work closely with their teachers.
What computer equipment is required for a BTS student at LJBM?
For software such as AutoCAD, Revit, LuxEeb-Tool, etc., it is recommended—and, in the case of certain programs, essential—to use a PC laptop rather than an Apple laptop.
